Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai was established on 12 November 1996.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General was officially opened on 3
April 1997 by His Excellency General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, the then Prime Minister of Thailand.
Thailand was the 30th
country to join the fast-growing consular community in the largest business
city of the People's Republic of China.
Apart from Shanghai
Municipality, the consular district of
the Royal Thai Consulate-General also covers Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui Provinces. The main duty of the Royal
Thai Consulate- General is to perform consular activities and to foster
commercial and friendly relations between Thailand
and Shanghai as
well as other provinces in its consular district.
